Execution of the “Casanova Killer”
Glen Rogers, known as the “Casanova Killer,” was executed on May 15, 2025, at Florida State Prison for the 1995 murder of Tina Marie Cribbs. He was 62. Cribbs, a mother of two, was found stabbed in a Tampa motel after meeting Rogers at a local bar. Though suspected of several killings, her case led to his conviction and death sentence.
Final Words and Actions
Before his death, Rogers addressed his family, victims’ families, and former President Donald Trump. “I know there’s a lot of questions that you need answers to… I hope in some way [this] will bring you closure,” he said. He ended with, “Keep making America great. I’m ready to go.” His execution was declared at 6:16 p.m. following a lethal injection.
Trail of Evidence and Capture
Rogers fled after the murder but was later caught in Kentucky, driving Tina’s stolen car. Investigators found her DNA on his clothes and his fingerprints on her discarded wallet. He was also sentenced to death in California for the killing of Sandra Gallagher, and linked to other murders across multiple states.
Closure for Victims’ Families
The execution was carried out under Governor Ron DeSantis’ order, during Trump’s second term and his renewed push for capital punishment. Rogers spent his final day calmly, sharing a meal and meeting with relatives. Andy Jiles Sutton’s son, whose mother was another suspected victim, stated, “Finally… my family, along with the other victims’ families will be able to have some type of closure to the nightmare created by this monster.”
