“Sen. Warren Slams Elon Musk Over Government Spending

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—a new agency launched by Donald Trump and now overseen by Elon Musk—is stirring up controversy as it digs into federal spending, waste, and possible corruption.

According to recent reports, DOGE uncovered questionable use of funds, such as hundreds of millions spent on DEI initiatives and media outlets seen as “woke.” It also flagged possible missing money in the trillions. The goal? Cut waste, expose fraud, and streamline how taxpayer money is spent.

But not everyone’s thrilled. At a fiery press conference, Senator Elizabeth Warren blasted Musk and DOGE’s efforts, warning the public that Musk now has access to the federal payment system that distributes Social Security, Medicare, and tax refunds.

“This is the same system that makes sure your granddad gets his Social Security check,” Warren said. “And now it’s in Elon Musk’s hands. Maybe you get paid, maybe you don’t.”

Warren also raised concerns that Musk has access to personal financial information—like Social Security numbers and bank accounts—and claimed he could use that data for personal gain or political power.

She didn’t stop there. Warren said this kind of access could invite hackers from hostile nations, asking, “Are the gates wide open now for hackers from China, North Korea, or Russia?”

Her remarks came with strong warnings: “We are living a nightmare created by Donald Trump and Elon Musk. We need to use every tool we have to fight back.”

She also pushed back on Trump’s potential Senate picks, like Tulsi Gabbard and Russ Vought, urging colleagues to reject them.

While Warren paints a dire picture, supporters of DOGE argue it’s finally exposing years of unchecked spending and government inefficiency. The debate is far from over—but it’s already one of the most heated clashes over transparency and tech in politics.
