Rosie O’Donnell Leaves U.S. Over Trump Victory
Rosie O’Donnell has officially left the U.S., relocating to Ireland in response to Donald Trump’s return to the presidency. The comedian and former View co-host confirmed she left on January 15, just days before Trump’s 2025 inauguration, saying she couldn’t endure another four years under him.
“I left on January 15,” O’Donnell said. “Just five days before his inauguration.”
A Long-Running Feud
O’Donnell has been at odds with Trump since 2006 and didn’t hold back after the 2024 election, where he narrowly defeated Kamala Harris. In a recent TikTok, she criticized the election, saying, “It’s very obvious that it was [rigged].” She’s now applying for Irish citizenship, citing her heritage and political frustration as motivation for the move.
Outspoken on Social Media
Despite living abroad, O’Donnell remains vocal. In her May 12 TikTok, she questioned Trump’s repeated claims of election fraud, asking, “Why is he allowed to admit this over and over again and no one does anything about it?” Her remarks came after Trump said at a rally, “They rigged the election and I became president, so that was a good thing.”
Controversial Trump Claims Continue
Trump’s post-election comments have sparked both ridicule and alarm. At a January rally, he thanked Elon Musk for supposed tech assistance, saying, “He knows those computers better than anybody… And we ended up winning Pennsylvania like, in a landslide.”
While Trump insists it was a sweeping win, he beat Harris by just 1.5% of the popular vote. No credible evidence of fraud has surfaced, but O’Donnell and others remain skeptical of how the results played out.
