Underground Cities for the Elite? Shocking Claim by Ex-Bush Official
Former Bush administration official Catherine Austin Fitts made a startling claim during a podcast interview with Tucker Carlson. She alleged that the U.S. government has secretly built vast underground cities to protect the ultra-wealthy from a potential “near extinction event.”
$21 Trillion in Unaccounted Spending
Fitts, who served as Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from 1989 to 1990, said her interest began while investigating $21 trillion in unexplained government spending. A 2017 report by economist Mark Skidmore revealed the Army had made $6.5 trillion in “unsupported adjustments” in 2015—over 50 times its approved budget.
According to Forbes, the “gargantuan nature of unsupported” federal spending “should be a great concern to all taxpayers.”
Hidden Bunkers and Secret Projects
Fitts claimed the missing funds were funneled into illegal or secret projects, including the construction of underground facilities. “I have examined the constructed underground base, city infrastructure, and transportation system,” she told Carlson. She described a network of about 170 underground and even undersea bases connected by advanced transport systems.
Safe Havens for the Wealthy
Fitts believes these hidden cities are powered by “breakthrough energy” and meant to serve as shelters for the ultra-rich during global disasters. “It wasn’t an accident,” she said. “It was a choice… to deprive the nation of its resources.”
Despite Fitts’ background in finance and her documented work on budget inconsistencies, no concrete evidence supports her claims. Still, her comments continue to fuel debate and curiosity about how far governments might go to protect their elites—and at what cost to the public.
