I Came Home and..

A man came home to find his wife crying behind a locked bedroom door. Concerned, he implored her to open the door and share what had happened. As she tearfully explained, he became furious with his 16-year-old nieces.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, took to the “AITA” forum on Reddit to seek advice on whether he was to blame for the situation. His wife was battling cancer and had lost her hair due to chemotherapy. Understandably, she felt insecure about appearing in public without hair, so she wore a wig to boost her confidence.

The man’s sister, who was going through a difficult divorce, moved in with her twin daughters after losing her place to live. Unbeknownst to the man, his nieces developed an interest in his wife’s wig. They wanted to touch it, wear it, and even asked why his wife wore it. However, she didn’t feel comfortable taking it off in front of them.

One day, the man returned from work to find his wife wailing from their bedroom. He tried to open the door, but it was locked. After repeatedly calling out to his wife, she finally unlocked the door. Filled with concern, he asked her why she was crying and was devastated to learn that his nieces had taken her wig and refused to return it unless she came out without it. To make matters worse, they even started recording a video of her.

Furious upon hearing his wife’s story, the man confronted the girls in the kitchen. He scolded them for humiliating his wife and demanded they return the wig. The girls claimed it was just a prank and that his wife had overreacted. Even the man’s sister defended the girls and accused him of overreacting. Unable to get through to them, the man made the difficult decision to evict his sister and nieces from his home.

Despite their pleas and requests for forgiveness, the man stood firm in his decision. He turned to the Reddit community for their opinion, and the response was overwhelming in his favor. Redditors agreed that the girls, being 16 years old, should have known better than to disrespect his sick wife. They believed the man did the right thing by kicking them out.

Many Redditors shared their own experiences, highlighting how even young children would understand the importance of empathy and respect. They emphasized that the girls’ behavior was rude and that the man had shown kindness by initially allowing them to stay.

In the end, the Reddit community supported the man’s decision, assuring him that he was not at fault. They applauded him for standing up for his wife and taking action against unacceptable behavior.
