‘Duck Dynasty’ Patriarch Phil Robertson Passes Away at 78
Phil Robertson, the bearded patriarch of A&E’s Duck Dynasty and founder of Duck Commander, passed away at age 78. His family confirmed the news on May 25, 2025, through heartfelt social media posts honoring his life, faith, and legacy.
Faith and Family Tributes
The Robertson family shared that Phil’s strong Christian faith comforted them during their loss. “One of the last things he said to me was ‘full strength ahead!’ Amen,” recalled his granddaughter, Sadie Robertson Huff. She added, “Now he is experiencing it in the fullness. Fully alive in Christ. The new has come.”
His son, Jase Robertson, wrote that Phil “has departed to be with the Lord,” expressing sorrow but also hope in their belief of eternal reunion. His grandson, Will Robertson, posted a childhood photo, saying, “His life, his testimony, and his devotion to God was so powerful… I’m thankful to know he’s sitting in his recliner talking to Jesus. Love you Papaw 🩶.”
A Legacy of Faith
Phil’s official Instagram account echoed the family’s spiritual foundation, stating he had often reminded them of the Bible’s promise of eternal life. The post affirmed that the family will continue his mission, “upholding his principles of love and faith.”
A New Chapter Ahead
Despite their grief, the family is also looking ahead. Willie and Korie Robertson, executive producers and key figures on Duck Dynasty, shared their excitement about a revival of the show. “We’re thankful for all who have followed along… and can’t wait to get cameras rolling again,” they said.
This announcement, first hinted at in a January 23 Facebook post, brings hope during a deeply emotional time for the Robertson family.
